1. Who can become a member of the community?
Any person who
can become a member of the community.
To become a resident that person should have also completed 60 years of age and should not be debilitated with any contagious or terminal illness at the time of entry to the community as a resident.
2. Is there a minimum age to be a member/resident?
There is no minimum age requirement to become a member. However to be a resident the primary resident needs to have completed 60 years at the time of entry into the community. However in certain exceptional situations, residents below the age of 60 years may also be permitted at the discretion of the management committee of the community.
3. Can a person who has a chronic illness be a resident member of the community?
As part of the membership process, every person needs to undergo a medical evaluation to determine the health of the individual and also to ascertain whether the medical services offered in the community is sufficient to take care of the member’s health needs. If the nature of the illness proves to be needing regular curative medical attention, then as long as the costs to provide for such medical care is provided for by the member, they can be a resident of the community.
4. Who will conduct the medical evaluation?
The physicians of Vaidyagrama shall be responsible for making this evaluation. If needed, they will be assisted by external consultants from other medical systems as well as investigative laboratories.
5. Who decides my eligibility to become a member?
In the initial stage, during the formative years, a committee consisting of the Trustees of the Trust. This responsibility shall subsequently be taken over by the management committee of the community itself. The decision of the committee in this regard is final.
6. If I become a member before I am 60, can I visit and stay at the community with my family for a few weeks to a month every year?
Yes. You will be able to stay in the guest homes that we will be building just for this purpose.
7. After becoming a member how much advance notice is required to become a resident member?
Once the project is ready for residents to start moving in, the member needs to give a written intimation 6 months before they can actually become a resident in the Community. Please do note that residences are allocated on a “first come first served basis”; the member who gives the written intimation first will be given first priority.
